The Simple, Natural DIY skincare products to make for Tween Skin
There is a lot of talk at the moment about tween and pre-teen kids buying skincare products and so many brands jumping on recommending their products.
Yes, we sell MEBEME which is all natural and is my choice for tween skin, but, I also want to share with you a few special tips that you can share with your tween to encourage them to start healthy skincare habits if they want to, and to help educate them on learning about ingredients and toxins.
1. Pure Raw Honey
Pure raw honey makes for an amazing cleanser, especially for skin experiencing breakouts. Apply as you would a gel cleanser, leave on for a few minutes and rinse off. So simple!
Pure raw honey is naturally antimicrobial and antibacterial and I have seen first hand how much calmer red, sore acne skin can look so calm after using it.
TIP - Mash half a banana and add a tablespoon of raw honey for a fun face mask
2. Make Your Own Serum/Face Oil
I can’t believe the type of serums that tweens are buying! I have a teenager of my own and we have had many discussions about skincare, what ingredients actually are and what is helping her skin vs harming her skin.
There are so many products that they really just do not need! Expensive serums is one of them!
I helped my daughter make a few natural face oils using a home made bain-marie set up (glass pyrex in a pot) on low heat for 4-6 hours, but here is a cheats version for you!
Look at their skin type, is their skin acne prone? Is it oily? Do they want to use a serum because it is what they have seen on socials? That’s OK too, it’s just important to look at the best oil types for their skin.
I have created a simple breakdown by skin type below, Acne Prone Skin, Dry Skin and normal skin.
3. Keep it Natural and Simple
Keeping it natural and simple doesn’t mean expensive or complicated. A natural cleanser, a natural moisturiser and sunscreen (we prefer natural sunscreen too).
If you don’t have the want or time to make your own products, then we LOVE and highly recommend MEBEME. They are all natural, vegan and effective.
Best of all they are not expensive!
